Michael A. Ferruggia received his Juris Doctor degree from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1993. Mr. Ferruggia commenced his practice concentration in real estate litigation as an associate attorney in a high profile, Garden City, New York firm. There, he was aggressively engaged in all stages of foreclosure and eviction litigation and served as lead counsel for multiple institutional lenders.
In 1995, Mr. Ferruggia accepted the opportunity to establish, develop, and supervise a lending department at a general practice firm in Hauppauge, New York. He succeeded in establishing one of the largest banking and real estate practices in Suffolk County. In 2002, Mr. Ferruggia founded the general practice partnership of Ferruggia & Calisto, LLP now with offices in Central Islip, Southampton, Miller Place, and Melville New York. Today, Mr. Ferruggia continues his practice concentration in real estate transactions and litigation, representing an extensive base of institutional, corporate, and private clientele.
Complimenting his private practice, Mr. Ferruggia is consistently engaged as an educational speaker for numerous not-for-profit agencies and as a keynote lecturer and industry trainer for all aspects of real property law, mortgage lending, real estate transactions, and current market trends. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at both the Patchogue and Bethpage, New York campuses of Briarcliffe College.
Committed to raising the industry standard of practice in New York, Mr. Ferruggia founded The New York Center of Real Estate (NYCORE) in 2013; a fully accredited real estate school offering relevant and contemporary Continuing Education programs to real estate professionals. Mr. Ferruggia also serves as Counsel to the Board of the Hamptons North Fork REALTORS® Association (HANFRA). As such, he serves as the legal liaison and voice of Long Island REALTORS® in both state and national matters.
Mr. Ferruggia now serves as an Adjunct Professor of real estate law at Villanova University's College of Professional Studies.
Edward A. Calisto, Esq. also received his Juris Doctor degree from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1993. He began his legal career as an associate attorney in the established Law Firm of Ricardo Montano, Esq. in Central Islip, New York. Mr. Calisto earned partnership in 1995 and the firm of Montano & Calisto, Esqs. enjoyed continued success until Mr. Montano accepted the opportunity to join the NYS Attorney General's Office in 2001. Mr. Calisto is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and possesses extensive expertise in all phases of civil litigation. He specializes in criminal defense and civil litigation, particularly in personal injury matters, commercial and residential real estate transactions, bankruptcy petitions, and family and matrimonial matters. In 2002, Mr. Calisto founded the general practice partnership of Ferruggia & Calisto, LLP in Hauppauge, New York. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and the United States District Court.
